Letter from the President
Welcome to the ΠΛΧ website. As you browse through the pages of our website, you will get a glimpse of the unique sisterhood that is ΠΛΧ.
Pi Lambda Chi Latina Sorority, Inc. started as a small organization to help Latinas at the University of Colorado at Boulder. Since then we have dramatically increased our presence in Boulder and across Colorado, and our growth has only just begun.
Since our beginning in 1994, we have established six chapters, incorporated as a non-profit organization, created a governing national board, and formed an alumni network. While many Latina Sororities have seen a boom in expansion, ΠΛΧ has taken her time in expanding to ensure that our unique sisterhood is preserved.
An important aspect of ΠΛΧ’s ideology is that all women are welcome to join the sisterhood. No woman will be turned down because of her race, religion, ideology, sexual orientation or social status. We especially believe that a minimum grade point average above the University standard is not necessary to welcome women, in higher education, as sisters. We hope to open doors for our sisters that have all too often been closed.
We are very proud of the efforts and accomplishments of our sisters and we are excited to see what the future will bring. We have an amazing group of women and leaders. Through our success and commitment to our Latino culture and community, we can give back and make our world a better place.
